About Stephanie

Lifelong Commitment to Justice

Stephanie for 180th Criminal District court judge is rooted in a lifelong commitment to learning, integrity, and service. Growing up in the Rio Grande Valley, Stephanie excelled in band, sports, and UIL activities with the support of her mother, a dedicated Texas teacher who fostered her love of education. That encouragement led Stephanie to the Duke University TIP Summer Studies Program and set her on a path where continuing her education past high school was never in doubt. When it came time to choose a university, Texas A&M was the clear choice.

At Texas A&M, Stephanie earned her B.S. in Biology and marched in the Nationally Famous Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band as a proud member of the Corps of Cadets, traveling and performing across the country. She was also honored to serve on the Aggie Honor Council during her junior and senior years, helping uphold the Aggie Honor Code and strengthening her commitment to fairness and integrity—values she will carry as Stephanie for 180th Criminal District court judge. Inspired by the diversity and opportunity of nearby Houston, she chose South Texas College of Law to earn her Juris Doctor and begin her legal career serving the people of Harris County.

Experience on Both Sides of the Courtroom

During law school, Stephanie gained hands-on experience that now guides her work as Stephanie for 180th Criminal District court judge. She interned at Lone Star Legal Aid and Fisher Law Office, where she focused on protecting the rights of adults and juveniles in Houston. Those experiences deepened her commitment to justice and inspired her to dedicate her legal career to serving the people of Harris County. After graduating, she was admitted to the Texas Bar and joined the Harris County District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney, prosecuting both misdemeanor and felony cases in Adult and Juvenile Court. While working full time as an ADA, her drive to keep learning led her to earn a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Law with a focus on Immigration Law in 2017.

Today, Stephanie brings that depth of experience to her work and to her campaign as Stephanie for 180th Criminal District court judge. She left the District Attorney’s Office to open The Morales Law Firm, where she defends clients in misdemeanor and felony criminal cases and represents juveniles in juvenile court. Stephanie has earned the American Chemical Society Lawyer-Scientist designation, serves on the Board of the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association, and is an active member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and DUIDLA. She is also a member of the Texas Bar College, reflecting her exceptional commitment to ongoing legal education. This combination of prosecution and defense experience, community-focused service, and advanced training is exactly what Stephanie for 180th Criminal District court judge will bring to the bench.
